Water Addicted to Drugs

HIPξGREENΞHEALTHΞTIP: Dispose Drugs @ a TakeBack

We once instructed citizens to flush medications down the toilet for proper disposal. Ecological Intelligence was left out of the equation. This is a primary example of how we should have used science to consider the potential impact of this public health recommendation on the environment. After years of flushing, dumping, overprescribing, and excreting drugs from the bodies of an overdosed society, we are now working backwards trying to clean up the damage that is reflected in our water supply. Drugs, along with chemicals from personal care products, are the newly emerging contaminants in our oceans, rivers and tap water. These additional chemical toxins are added to the robust chemical soup already polluting the earth’s water. The Teleosis Institute is a leader in curbing this ever-growing public health issue through their Green Pharmacy Pollution Prevention Campaign. These critical issues have to be approached from an acute perspective while diligently working on the root cause.

Acute Solutions:

  • Dispose left-over Drugs Properly: Find a Take Back Center at Earth 911 or monitor newspapers for local Takeback events.
  • Ask your doctor’s office or hospital to set up a take back site for patients.
  • Do not flush drugs down the drain, toilet or throw away in the trash.

Root Solutions:

• Create a healthy and whole lifestyle with a belief that natural health can be achieved throughout one’s lifetime.

• Understand the full spectrum of safe, effective treatment options for illness other than sole reliance on chemical solutions. Examples include:

Integrative Nutrition
Breath work
Acupuncture
Meditation
Proper Sleep
Physical Exercise

• Purchase “Green Health” by buying meats that are antibiotic and hormone-free and organic bodycare products whenever possible.

• Re-Connect with nature. Understand the importance and urgency of clean water from within.
